Specifications for the Venetian Collection of Lightsmith™ Grilles

A. MATERIALS

• Unfinished and Painted: MDF grille with solid Poplar frame
• Unfinished and Stained: Wood veneered MDF grille with solid hardwood frame* (same wood species as grille)
• Unfinished and Stained: Solid hardwood grille* with solid hardwood frame*
• Solid Hardwood and Veneer: American Cherry, Mahogany, Hard Maple, Plain Sawn Red Oak, American Black Walnut
  * Pinecrest®’s solid hardwood is manufactured from U.S. kiln dried hardwoods with natural variations in color, grain and texture.
• Treated Exterior Composite (Extira™), unfinished only
• Powder Coated Steel and Stainless Steel

B. SIZES – Adjustments and/or alterations in pattern configuration may be necessary to accommodate your dimensions.

Available in 1/16" increments in both height and width.

C. GRILLE PATTERN PROFILES

Veneers are applied to the (2) flat faces of the grilles, not the shaped and routed parts.

PINECREST®'s stain charges are for the standard Gemini® colors listed below. Stain samples are available for an extra charge.

Because of Wood Grain Variations, Stain Colors May Not be Identical to Samples.

PAINT COLORS
Specify paint manufacturer, color name and number.

PINECREST® will submit one sample for your approval. For additional samples (beyond the aforementioned one) additional charges will apply.

CUSTOM PAINT AND STAIN MATCHING
Custom matching is available for an extra charge. The following is required for computer matching:

1. A 2” X 2” or larger color sample.
2. The color sample must be on a flat surface.
3. Paint sample must be on a white background such as white cardboard.
4. Stain sample must be on wood. If the stain sample you submit for matching is on wood other than the wood used for fabricating the product, matching will be extremely difficult.

Pinecrest® will submit one or two samples (if necessary) for your approval. For additional samples, (beyond the aforementioned two) additional charges will apply.

Because of the variability in wood grain samples (regardless of the type of wood) the problems inherent in achieving exact stain matches are incalculable. Therefore, if the samples submitted are inadequate by your standards after two attempts by Pinecrest® to match your sample, we will no longer be obliged to continue the attempt of exact matching.

E. ASYMMETRICAL DESIGNS

1. Pairs will be mirror image matched (unless you specify otherwise).
2. Singles – To avoid the possibility of inadvertent design reversal, you must specify how the asymmetrical design is to appear.

F. CONSTRUCTION

Framed grilles are mortise and tenon construction.

Interior stile and rail doors in 1-3/8" and 1-3/4" thicknesses have laminated cores with 1/8" thick veneer facing with 3/4" thick hardwood bonding on outside edges of stiles. Pinecrest® may change from solid hardwood stiles and rails to laminated core at its discretion for any product.

G. CUSTOM DESIGNS – Are available for an extra charge.

Adjustments and/or alterations in pattern configuration may be necessary to accommodate your dimensions.

H. ARCH OPTIONS

Most grilles can be made in arch, circle and hex forms.

True Radius/Halfround	Elliptical	Flat Arch	Segment

A Mylar®, cardboard or plywood template must be submitted for all arches except a true radius/halfround. Arches which have unusual or untrue radii also require templates. Cardboard templates which are bent and/or taped together are not acceptable.

The measurement from the bottom of the opening to the springline must be designated.

Specifications for Powder Coated Steel Products

SINGLE DOORS

Specify (E) Hinge Left or (F) Hinge Right. Powder coated steel hinges are welded to doors unless otherwise specified.

Custom sizes are available.

Most of the grille patterns shown in the unframed Venetian grille section are available in steel.

** Be mindful that railings must comply with local building codes.
